war bonnet

war bonnets are common, but sometimes hard to photograph. they have a tendancy to say "SWIM AWAY!" or "DON'T LOOK INTO THE LIGHT!". but they make a good picture from any angle. so why do they call them war bonnets anyway? i don't see them in a war with anything or anyone...
